Today's Client: Hello, Hello Kitty

My sister Vicki and her friend Patty were both dressing up as Hello Kitty for Halloween and asked me to do their makeup. They each had a different version of Hello Kitty so I changed their makeup a bit to suit the costume.

Vicki was "classic" kitty so I kept it simple with black winged liner and shimmery white in the inner corners to open the eyes. She didn't want any blush and just used a light pink lip for a soft touch of color.

Vicki:

  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
  • M.A.C Light Plus Prep+Prime BB Beauty Balm SPF 35
  • yaby cc016 Concealer
  • M.A.C Studio Fix Powder Plus
  • Maybelline Medium Brown Expertwear Twin Brow and Eye Pencil
  • yaby es442 Sand Dune Eyeshadow
  • M.A.C Wedge Eyeshadow
  • M.A.C Dazzlelight Eyeshadow
  • M.A.C Crystal Avalanche Eyeshadow
  • Clinique True Black Brush-On Cream Liner
  • NYX Super Skinny Eye Marker
  • M.A.C Fascinating Eye Kohl
  • Sephora Showstopper False Eye Lashes
  • Make Up For Ever #013 Yellow 12 Flash Color Case
  • yaby es283 Pure Yellow Eyeshadow
  • M.A.C Dervish Lip Pencil
  • M.A.C Angel Lipstick

Patty was "punk-y" kitty and although I kept the eye makeup the same as Vicki's , she wanted a pop of pink on the cheeks and wore her own fuchsia lipstick.

Patty:

  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
  • yaby cf061 Cream Foundation
  • yaby cc016 Concealer

  • M.A.C Dazzlelight Eyeshadow
  • M.A.C Crystal Avalanche Eyeshadow
  • Clinique True Black Brush-On Cream Liner
  • NYX Super Skinny Eye Marker
  • Make Up For Ever #121 Gina Eyelashes

  • YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick (her lipstick, unsure of color)

This was my first Halloween look on someone else and I'll be honest even though it was an easy look, I was still nervous to do it and I learned a few things that I could improve on next time. For example, I used Vicki's NYX liquid eyeliner to draw her whiskers but found it didn't quite give an even line. I used Clinique's liner for Patty's whiskers and liked the results better as it gave a more fluid application. The nose was surprisingly easy to do, the MUFE Flash palette acting as a perfect base and the yaby eyeshadow to brighten the color and set it. They were both happy with the looks which is most important.

I know many of you on the East coast can't celebrate Halloween due to Hurricane Sandy. I hope everyone stays safe, my thoughts and prayers go out to those affected!
