Chic Shopaholic: M.A.C In Extra Dimension, Reel Sexy, and Tres Chic Collections

M.A.C released three collections all on the same day and so I thought I'd review everything I bought in one post. All three collections had a Spring color palette, some pastel shades with a few brights.

In Extra Dimension:
This collection was about highlighting the face and eyes with a unique liquid-powder formula. They have a slightly damp texture when you touch it with your fingers but glide smoothly like a powder. They all have a high frost-metallic sheen but no chunky glitter and good pigmentation. All are limited edition.
  • Extra Dimension Skinfinishes:  These are the same sizes as the regular Mineralize Skinfinishes but without the dome-shape. Instead, it has M.A.C printed on the upper half and then a wave design on the lower half.  It claims to lasts up to 10 hours and I don't usually have problems with highlight powders wearing off but these do last long on me. I would also use these on the body, i.e. shoulders, decolletage, etc. for a bit of glow to the skin.
    • Whisper of Gilt: pale golden-champagne. The most universal shade of the three but would suit fair skin-tones.
    • Superb: light pink nude-beige. Also a universal shade but will show up more pink on lighter skin-tones and would flatter medium-tan skin-tones.
    • Glorify: light-medium copper bronze. Could be used as a light shimmer bronzer-blush on light-to-medium skin-tones but would look best on dark warm skin-tones.
  • Extra Dimension Eyeshadows: I only bought three of the ten shades. The pigmentation slightly differs between each eyeshadow, some sheerer than others, but they all have the same finish. You can also use these with a damp brush to intensify the colors and bring out the shimmer. All swatches were applied dry.
    • Modern Pewter: light antique-y olive golden-green
    • Warm Thunder: light blue-silver grey
    • Young Venus: pale white-pink

Reel Sexy:
This collection is based on model icon Kristen McMenamy. Although this was a pretty big collection, I only bought the blushes and one lipgloss. Watch Me Simmer Lipstick was a re-promote in the Shop M.A.C, Cook M.A.C Collection which  I have reviewed here. All are limited edition.
  • Powder Blushes: I like that this collection had one neutral blush and bright blush that could work on almost any skin-tone. Both are limited edition.
    • Pink Cult: matte muted neutral nude-pink. It looks a bit dull and grey-ish in the pan but on my cheeks, it actually shows up more pink. It's a great color though that will work both for a natural or dramatic look.
    • Magenta: matte bright berry-red. Very little of this product is needed to show up on the skin. I like to use a stippling brush (M.A.C 188) to barely dab into the blush, then buff onto the cheeks.
  • Star Quality Cremesheen Glass: medium bright red-pink coral. The pigmentation is light-to-medium and shows up well enough to wear on its own. I like Cremesheen Glasses because they have the shiny, glossy finish but without the sticky texture.

Tres Cheek:
This collection consisted of six Powder Blushes, covering all ranges from neutral to bright shades. I only bought one because all the colors seemed like something I already had.

  • Full of Joy Powder Blush: Frost finish, light cool pink-lavender. There aren't many brands that make lavender blushes so I definitely wanted to pick this up. This color is quite cool-toned but adds a bit of brightness to the cheeks. Even though it's a frost finish, it doesn't actually look super shimmery but still has a glow to it that would be great as highlight.

I really the products I bought in all three collections. The colors work great for a fresh makeup look that is perfect for Spring. What were your favorite products from these collections?
