Chic Shopaholic: Dorothy Perkins

Lately I haven't seem to find anything I like for clothes and accessories at my usual stores and so I've been dependent on online shopping. I like the ease of just clicking through what I'm looking for, especially in narrowing it down by size and style.

I found a new favorite retailer called Dorothy Perkins that is based in the UK but have many outlets in the US and ships internationally from their website. They have a variety of on-trend styles at reasonable prices and in a wide range of sizes from 2-18. There's also clothing for tall, petite and maternity wear as well as lingerie, shoes and accessories.

DP offers a lot of sales and specials so I bought two shirts for $45 (each $25). Both are button-up work shirts with short sleeves and pintuck details. The left is in white with tiny grey hearts printed all over, the right is in bright red. It's definitely perfect for an office outfit but would also be cute for casual looks with a cardigan over it and jeans.

I've been looking for the right size purse that is small  and easy enough for me to carry but can still hold a few things. DP has quite a few wristlet bags and so I bought one in Champagne panel. It has a slight metallic sheen with a gold flip-latch. The material is soft but the quality is nice and durable. There's enough room to fit a few small things like your phone, keys, cash/cards and a couple makeup products like your powder and lipstick/gloss. I like that this can be used out during the day but can carry on for the evening or clubbing.

After being completely satisfied with my first order, I made a second one soon after when they sent me an e-mail for their Friends & Family 25% off sale.

I bought two dresses, the one on the left is a Gold/silver glitter tunic. I wouldn't call this dress gold,  to me it's more like a light grey. It's a cute outfit paired with black leggings  for a casual-girly outfit.

The one on the right is a Beige pleat weave waist dress but is more like a light cream-color in real life. There are long fringes on the lower half that makes the dress really feminine. I wore this with my Topshop cropped blazer and it matched perfectly for a sophisticated evening look.

I loved the wristlet bag so much that I bought two more. One is in the exact same style as the champagne panel but in Pink. The online photo looked more magenta but in real life, it's more of a fuchsia-pink. It's still a cute bag, the pink adding just a pop of color to any neutral, black and white or color-blocking outfit.

The other wristlet bag I bought was a Black ruched flap. The closure is a silver twist lock and the strap is actually detachable. It's a nice option to either carry it as a casual wristlet purse or to remove it and transform into a clutch for a night out.

The last accessories I bought were the Gold Look Woven Tube Head Band and Snake Chain Hair Band. I've been inspired by this short hair chignon 'do from  thebeautydepartment.com via pinterest.com (my new obsession!). A great way to change up your hairstyle is by adding accessories like a simple head band. Both stay well on my head but are still comfortable to wear.

As you can probably tell I just love this site, I check back often for new stuff to come in. They care so many different brands, most at reasonable prices although some can be a little expensive but are nice quality. I definitely suggest  to sign up on their e-mailing list for free shipping or discount promotion codes - you even get 15% off your first order. What are your favorite sites to shop online?
